Info concerning Hocking College metallurgical engineering, registering for elective courses, and taking free practice exams online. Which college degrees offer you the best chances of finding employment after graduation? If you complete the metallurgical engineering certificate program, for example, there are a variety of specializations that may appeal to you, such as chemical engineering, materials science, or structural systems. Further, due to advances in technology, there is a growing shortage of graduates from metallurgical engineering programs, and highly-skilled engineers in general.

Mechanical engineering degrees typically take four to five years to complete, and result in a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Bachelor of Science (BSc or BS), or Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (BME). In the US, most undergraduate mechanical engineering programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Mechanical engineering programs include courses on composites, thermodynamics, engine design, hydraulics, control theory, robotics, and computer-aided design (CAD). In addition to the core mechanical engineering curriculum, many mechanical engineering programs offer more specialized programs and classes, such as control systems, cryogenics, fuel technology, biomechanics, vibration, and optics. The median annual income of mechanical engineers in the US workforce was $80,580, highest when working for the government ($92,030), and lowest in education ($57,090).

Many mechanical engineering companies have begun to incorporate computer-aided engineering (CAE) programs into their existing processes, including 2D and 3D solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD), enabling faster and more exhaustive visualization of products. Other CAE programs commonly used by mechanical engineers include product lifecycle management (PLM), and analysis tools such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM). Further, automation in the form of industrial robots allow businesses to save money on manufacturing costs, and ensure precision quality control.

Aerospace Engineering Programs

Aerospace engineers may design aircraft, space vehicles, satellites, and missile systems. In addition, they test prototypes to make sure that they function according to design. Aerospace engineers are employed in building, analysis and design of commercial aircraft, missile systems for national defense, or spaceships. Aerospace engineers are employed primarily in manufacturing, research and development, and must have a bachelors degree in aerospace engineering or another related field. In addition, aerospace engineers that work on projects that are related to national defense will need a security clearance.

Aerospace operations technicians and mechanics, on the other hand, need only an associates degree to begin earning a good salary. They operate and maintain equipment used in developing, testing, and producing new aircraft and spacecraft. Increasingly, these workers must be able to use computer-based modeling (CAD) and simulation tools in their work. Certification is offered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Both companies and the FAA seek to ensure the highest standards for the safety of the aircraft. In fact, SpaceTEC, the National Science Foundation Center for Aerospace Technical Education, coordinates a nationwide program through community and technical colleges to help students prepare for certification. The median annual wage for aerospace engineers with a bachelors degree was $107,830, while aircraft technicians and mechanics holding an associate's degree earned $66,180, as of May 2015.

The Fundamentals of Engineering exam should be taken immediately after earning a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program. Engineers who pass this exam are called engineers in training (EIT), or engineer interns. After meeting work experience requirements, engineer interns can attempt a second certifying exam, called the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam. Thereafter, acquisition of a professional engineering license enables management of junior engineers, the ability to sign off on engineering projects, and provide services directly to the public. Wages vary by employer and location. Aside from salary, most engineering jobs include excellent benefits, as well as retirement plans.

Men in love show more activity in the visual part of the brain, while women in love show more activity in the part of the brain that governs memory. Psychologists speculate that men may size up a woman visually to see how well she may bear babies, while women observe aspects of man's behavior to determine if he would be an adequate provider. Women often feel loved when talking face to face with their partner, while men often feel closer to their partners when they work, play, or talk side by side. In one clinical experiment, strangers of the opposite sex were together for 90 minutes where they talked about intimate details of their lives, and stared into each other's eyes. Many felt a deep attraction for each other, and two couples married within six years. The longer and more deliberate a courtship, the better the prospects for a long marriage. On the other hand, people who have intense romances are more likely to divorce after a few years. As romantic love dwindles, a more stable love sets in.

College Inspector is the work of a group of Thai students in Bangkok, using info from the US Department of Education, Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). Men are more likely to be flexible in their romantic choices, but when they want to marry and have kids, they become pickier about basic qualities. If a man meets a woman in a dangerous situation, such as on a trembling bridge, he is more likely to fall in love with her than if he met her in a normal setting, such as in an office. Girls are more likely to fall in love if they are looking for adventure, craving to leave home, are lonely, displaced in a foreign country, or passing into a new stage of life. Women around the world are more likely to fall in love with partners with ambition, education, wealth, respect, status, and a sense of humor. According to social psychologists, women prefer distinctive cheekbones and a strong jawbone, which are linked to testosterone levels.
